For Everything Reiki
For me Reiki has become a way of life.
It is known for its natural healing qualities based on a universal life force energy that can be accessed by those
who have been attuned to this energy through a Reiki Master Teacher..
Reiki is defined in the Oxford Dictionary as:
a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning, literally, ‘universal life energy’.
Reiki works on every level of a living body, not just the physical, and is understood to promote the body’s regenerative self-healing ability.
Reiki is an original method of self development and healing; for many it is also a spiritual discipline and the healing of others.
It was developed by Mikao Usui, in Japan, at the start of the 20th Century.
The art of Reiki is now practised in many counties of the World.
With the style of Reiki that I was taught, and teach, there are 3 levels of Reiki taught, Reiki 1, Reiki 11 (2) and Reiki 111 (3) - Reiki Master Teacher.
Some styles of Reiki teach over 4 levels with Master and Teacher being separate levels - Reiki 3A and 3B..
I was taught that there are 4 aspects of Reiki (though not all styles teach this way); Reiki for:-
Personal Development - Adopting Mikao Usui 5 Precepts of Just for Today...
Spiritual Development - A recognition of a feeling or sense or belief that there is something greater than myself, being connected to a greater power.
Healing Practice - Becoming a conduit for the Reiki energy that enhances the body's own healing abilities.
Mystic Order - Acknowledging and following my '6th sense' or 'inner knowing'.
Reiki 1 is mainly for the self, self development, self treatment and the treating of family and friends.
Reiki 11 gives you the 'tool chest' for progression to the treating of others.
Reiki 111 is Reiki Master Teacher level where, after experiencing and developing your Reiki you can start to teach others.
There is now another category of Reiki - that of Verified Reiki Professional Practitioner.
Here a person can choose Reiki with a definite pathway to practicing Reiki in a professional setting i.e. in a conventional medical setting such as a hospice. This pathway has clearly defined training with a Reiki Core Curriculum based on the National Occupational Standards for Reiki. A person will receive traditional Reiki 1 and 11 training in their preferred style of Reiki along with the set criteria for the professional practice of Reiki.
This training is in line with college courses, being taught over a minimum of 9 months and is verified by the Reiki Council and the CNHC.
